Sweet wine
This exceptional cuvée was bottled in 2010 to celebrate the estate’s 400th anniversary. A rare cuvée from a vintage that allowed our sun-drenched Rieslings from the Grand Cru Froehn to over-ripen until November.
Grape variety
100% Riesling
Vineyard
Tillage: ploughing, composting, mowing.
Terroir
Grand Cru Froehn: a sunny, early-ripening terroir of Lias clay and marl with a limestone reaction.
Winemaking
Harvested by hand. Overripe botrytized grapes (noble rot). Gently harvested after the grape harvest on November 21st. Direct pressing of whole grapes. No sulfur under the press. Natural sourdough. Aged on fine lees for 6-9 months. Filtered wine.
Tasting and gastronomy
Golden, old gold color. Exotic nose. Notes of citrus, dried lemons. On the palate, rich and full-bodied, with very high acidity. A fine wine with great ageing potential.
