Grape variety
Edelzwicker is a typical Alsatian blend. Under production charter, it is made up of a minimum of 50% noble grape varieties (Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Muscat). Edelzwicker 2021 is a meticulous blend of 49% Auxerrois, 20% Pinot Gris, 10% Muscat, 16% Riesling and 5% Gewurztraminer.
Vineyard
A blend of several parcels.
Tillage: ploughing, composting, mowing. Treatments: Bordeaux mixture, sulfur, plant infusions and seaweed extracts.
Terroir
Clay, marl and sometimes limestone and sandy hills in the Ribeauvillé region.
Winemaking
Harvested by hand. Sorting in the vineyard. Direct pressing of whole grapes. No sulfur under the press. Natural sourdough. Aged on fine lees for 6-9 months. Filtration.
Tasting and gastronomy
Excellent with cheese fondue, goat’s cheese and spring rolls. Beautiful yellow color with green highlights. The nose is expressive with muscatel notes. The wine tastes dry, with freshness, a touch of butter and a little roundness.
