Vineyard
A blend of several plots of vines around forty years old.
Planting density: 5000 plants/ha.
Tillage: ploughing, composting, mowing.
Treatments: Bordeaux mixture, sulfur, plant infusions and seaweed extracts.
Terroir
Grand Cru Froehn: a sunny, early-maturing terroir of Lias clay and marl with a limestone reaction, sprinkled with sandstone at the summit.
Vinification
Sorting at the vine. Direct pressing of whole grapes. No sulfur under the press. Natural sourdough. Aged on fine lees for 6-9 months.
Malolactic fermentation. Minimalist filtration.
Tasting and gastronomy
Thick, golden color. The aromas are very expressive, with foral and buttery notes. Full-bodied and racy on the palate, with a lively finish. The wine is saline, with long-lasting fruit.
A perfect accompaniment to fish and certain white meats.
